Fans of singing snowmen, prepare to get excited, as Idina Menzel has told The Telegraph (opens in new tab) that Frozen 2 is “in the works” over at Disney.
“They’re all in the works,” said Menzel, when asked about rumoured plans for a stage musical and movie sequel, before going on to answer whether she will be involved in either project…
“Ah, yeah sure,” she responds. “Not the stage show – I don’t know what will happen with that – but the movie hopefully. We’ll see. I’m just going along for the ride.”
As the highest-grossing animated film of all time, it should come as no surprise to hear that Disney is exploring the possibility of a sequel, although the studio has been at pains not to confirm anything officially…
We’d imagine it’s a case of when, rather than if, at this stage. In the meantime, expect another job-lot of DVDs, Blu-rays and soundtracks to tide over Disney’s coffers this Christmas…
