Acclaimed lucha libre-themed brawler Guacamelee is making the jump to PC early next month. According to IGN, the Drinkbox Studios developed title will be available on Steam from August 8 priced at £11.99/€13.99/$14.99.
Guacamelee! Gold Edition will come with two DLC packs, the Costume Pack and The Devil’s Playground, as well as full Steam functionality including Steam Trading Cards, achievements, leaderboards and cloud saving. As a bonus, those who pick the co-op indie game in its first week of availability will receive a free copy of DrinkBox’s previous title, the well-received physics-based platformer Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack.
Guacamelee first launched as a cross-buy title for PS3 and Vita in April. We said in our original Guacamelee review: “When you put together a little Metroid, Castlevania, Super Mario, and Mutant Blobs Attack! then immerse it in Mexican folklore, you get Guacamelee! A meaty experience with terrific combat, lovely visuals, and a smart sense of humor, it scratches an itch that’s being ignored more often than not these days. Despite some frustrating moments and difficulty spikes, it’s a terrific game for PlayStation Network gamers looking for something both familiar and different.”
