Xbox 360 gets redesign, free games for Xbox Live

The Xbox 360 is getting a new look, and free games are coming to Xbox Live. Don Mattrick announced the Xbox 360 redesign on stage at the Microsoft E3 2013 conference, saying that the new design was inspired by the look of the Xbox One. The new 360 is slimmer and lighter than the current version.

He then continued to announce that Xbox Live Gold--which will carry over from Xbox 360 to Xbox One--will offer owners two free games as of 1 July. The first games to be available are Assassin's Creed 2 and Halo 3. Looks like Microsoft are keen to imitate the success of Sony's instant game collection on PSN.

Expect more free game announcements in the coming months.

Oh... so free games means games that everyone has played. In August will it be Modern Warfare 2 and Grand Theft Auto 4?

It is ok, Fable 3 is free right now, if you choose the pay with MS points option. We haven't decided if it is a glitch or was intentional for when they announce Fable 4.
