The Pokemon Go Halloween event is one of the most popular annual occurrences and this year will introduce new Pokemon and Shinies for trainers to obtain. This year will split the Halloween event into two parts with the first coming this week. But don't worry there is plenty to do in the week-long event and we’ll get to the second part down the line.

Pokemon Go Halloween Event 2022 Part 1 Start time
The Pokemon Go Halloween Event Part 1 begins Thursday, October 20 at 10 a.m. and ends Thursday, October 27 at 10 a.m. local time.
How to catch Shiny Noibat and Noivern in Pokemon Go
Noibat and Noivern, the Dragon types from the Kalos region, will have their Shiny forms debut in Pokemon Go during this year’s Halloween event.
Their color scheme changes dramatically going from purple and black to a bright green. It’s one of the coolest Shinies in the franchise so trainers will want to do them to their collection soon as the chance to encounter them will be greater during the event.
As to how to find a Shiny Noibat, it will be a bit tedious. The only way is to hatch it from an Egg, but not just any Egg it has to be one of the 7km Eggs obtained in Friends Gifts during the event. Trainers will have to walk a lot to hatch these Eggs and find that elusive Shiny.
To compensate for this, Niantic is making the chance to hatch a Shiny Noibat during the Halloween event even greater than if it were found in the wild.
We recommend clearing your Egg stash as much as possible now so when the event starts you can stock up on 7km Eggs from Friends. Also, the rates are locked in for all Eggs obtained during the event so even if you hatch them after it is over, the chance will remain the same as if you hatched them during the event.
How to catch Shiny Galarian Yamask and Runerigus in Pokemon Go
Galarian Yamask and Runerigus will also have their Shinies introduced during the first part of the 2022 Halloween event. Unlike Noibat, these will be a bit easier to obtain as they have a variety of ways to find them.
Galarian Yamask will be hatchable in 7km Eggs and in One-Star Raids. Trainers can also find them as reward encounters for completing certain Field Research tasks -- more on that in the section below.
Pokemon Go Halloween Event 2022 Part 1 Field Research Tasks
There will be plenty of event-exclusive Field Research tasks that trainers can get by spinning PokeStops during the event. Complete these tasks to gain e3ncounters with certain Ghost-type Pokemon and even get Mega Energy.

- One-Star Raids: Sableye, Purrloin, Yamask, Galarian Yamask, Phantump
- Three-Star Raids: Gengar, Umbreon, Driblim, Drapion
- Five-Star Raids: Giratina (Altered Forme)
- Mega Raid: Mega Banette (get some Pokemon Go Mega Banette raid counters here)
