The first trailer has arrived for Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones , the first official spin-off from the supernatural series, which introduces a cast of Latino characters to the pesky demon that has stalked the previous films.
Described by series creator Oren Peli as a "cousin" to the main series as opposed to a direct sequel, the new film follows the luckless Jesse, who takes the inadvisable decision to go rooting through the ramshackle apartment of his recently deceased neighbour.
Needless to say, what he finds in there is something far more sinister than manky furniture and stacks of old newspapers. And it isn't as easy to leave in the darkness either…
Take a look at the new trailer, below:
While the new film seems to hit many of the same beats as the rest of the series, it's one of the more revealing trailers we've seen from a Paranormal Activity film. Usually the action is only hinted at, but here, it's all up on screen from the off.
Directed by Christopher Landon, writer on three of the previous films, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones will open in the UK on 3 January 2014.
