Everyone's freaking out about THAT sex scene in the American Gods premiere

Get ready to welcome a new TV show into your hearts because American Gods (opens in new tab) premiered a couple of days ago, and it's been met with a resounding thumbs up from fans of the book and newbies alike. Based on Neil Gaiman's fantasy novel about a battle between the old gods and the new, Hannibal's Bryan Fuller has turned it into a series which looks set to be the next big thing.

While much praise was heaped on the stylistic look of the show, as well as the Game of Thrones (opens in new tab)-worthy blood and violence, there's one scene in particular that's got everyone talking. Now, you might be thinking, 'Of course it's the sex scene', but stay with me because it's not for the reasons you might think.

If you've seen the episode you know the scene I'm talking about. Goddess Bilquis, AKA the Queen of Sheba, played by the incredible Yetide Badaki, literally sucks a whole man into her vagina. Yes, they're having sex and then he disappears inside her. It's an unbelievable scene to watch and one which is fairly ground-breaking when you think about how many sex scenes feature the woman in the more submissive role. If anything, Bilquis' scene screams POWER.
