Kinect PlayFit now available on Xbox Live Dashboard

In an attempt to motivate gamers to get off the couch, Microsoft has launched Kinect PlayFit. A new fitness app available for free to both Xbox Live Gold and Silver members.

The new fitness dashboard will keep track of the calories you burn while playing your favourite Kinect titles. For added incentive you can earn Xbox Live achievements and win Avatar awards for burning calories, as well as show off to your friends by ranking high on the leaderboard.

Whether you're impartial to Kinect Star Wars, or Dance Central 2 you can now have fun and exercise at the same time. While the fitness dashboard takes care of tracking your progress along the way.

Geez, are all gamers lazy cynical douche-bags who hate everything? I think this is great, I like using kinect for exercise, and this is a good way to track my progress. Sheesh, now go off and worship the next Call of Duty, or more likely, just hate on that too.
