Persona 6 to be announced at Xbox Games Showcase, prominent Switch 2 leaker claims as rumored images circulate
"I don't think there's any way Persona 6 does not show up at this showcase," Nate the Hate claims
After Sega issued copyright strikes on some supposed Persona 6 leaks, all eyes are on a potential Summer Game Fest reveal. And now, prominent leaker Nate the Hate is claiming that we should be seeing it on Sunday.
Over the last few years – after over a decade of not supporting the platform – Atlus and RGG Studio have gotten cozy with Xbox for most of its major reveals. Persona 5 ports, Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4 Revival, and Metaphor ReFantazio were all revealed at Xbox Game Showcase events, and now everyone's looking to Xbox for more news about Persona. While it feels very likely that we could see something about Persona 4 Revival, given that it's received multiple age ratings within the last few months, the unannounced Persona 6 is a bit more mysterious.
However, Nate The Hate – who most recently leaked details about the new Star Fox before its reveal alongside a whole host of Nintendo info – says in a recent episode of his podcast that "I'm confident enough to say that Persona 6 will be there," in regards to this Sunday's Xbox Games Showcase. He doubles down on this, saying: "I don't think there's any way Persona 6 does not show up at this showcase."
As for any other details, Nate The Hate adds that "I think they will put the year. I think it'll just be that generic 2027 type of thing," but that we won't be getting a release month. However, he expects a repeat of 2024, where a Persona remake releases in February, before a new game (in 2024's case, Metaphor) launches in the second half of the year. So it only took 10 years, but we may be seeing the next Persona game this week.
