During Sony's GamesCom presentation, president and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Andrew House confirmed
the previously rumored price drop for the 12GB PlayStation 3. Now, you'll be
able to pick up the console for $199 in America (or €199 in Europe), lowering the barrier of entry even
further for Sony's current-gen console.
This is the first time the 12GB version will be available in the US, too, but we wouldn't recommend getting this version if you're serious about playing games on the console. Sure, it's cheap, but the hard drive space is pathetic, and you won't be able to take advantage of the cool PS Plus benefits when you only have 12GB of space to work with.
