Fairy-tale actioner Snow White And The Huntsman was a surprise hit for Universal, netting the studio around $400 million worldwide and enough to guarantee a sequel. As that inevitable follow-up The Huntsman: Winter's War edges closer to its April release date, we're now getting our first glimpses in a series of character posters and a teaser trailer.
Cedric Nicolas-Troyan takes over from Rupert Sanders in the director's chair for this origin tale of how the huntsman Eric and Queen Ravenna - Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth reprise their roles, respectively - came to be connected. Jessica Chastain joins the cast as another huntsman, named Sara, with Emily Blunt on villainess duties as Ravenna's sister, Freya. She trains the pair while plotting to resurrect her sister from the grave. And by the looks of this brief teaser, she's successful in her bid:
Theron's batty route to villainy looks as enjoyable as ever, yet it's difficult to gauge anything else substantial about what's on offer. Tomorrow's full trailer ought to shed a little more light on that matter and hopefully a decent look at Chastain and Blunt in action. The Huntsman: Winter's War opens on April 22, 2016.
