Mark October 21st in your calendar, have that tuxedo pressed and start asking around at your society soirees for a date who loves classical music and owns a Midna costume. Nintendo's Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony Concert series is launching in Los Angeles, in partnership with the producers of PLAY! A Videogame Symphony and equipped with a choir and 70-piece orchestra. The concert precedes a full 2012 concert tour, with dates and venues to be announced later, and a Zelda celebration that includes freebies for 3DS owners.
The concert, which was first announced at E3 earlier this year, will be held at LA's Pantages Theatre. The musical lineup was chosen by series composer Koji Kondo and his team from the series' back-catalog of familiar themes and motifs. The concert is being produced by Jason Michael Paul Productions, which has previously overseen concerts such as PLAY! A Videogame Symphony and two Final Fantasy orchestra events.
Bookings for the LA concert start at $35 and go on sale August 1 from Ticketmaster. You can get further news on the tour as it's announced, as well as a musical preview, from theconcert series' website. Nintendo has also announced that four-player Link to the Past spinoff Four Swords will be available for free download from the eShop in September as part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations.
