HOT TOPIC Should '80s Classics Be Remade?

So it's official: Bridesmaids director Paul Feig is strapping on a proton pack and rebooting Ghostbusters with an all-female crew of spook-hunters.

Is this good news? Do you welcome a fresh take on a solid gold classic? Or should Hollywood leave the indisputable greats of '80s cinema alone?

And what's next? Remakes of everything from The Goonies to Gremlins , The Last Starfighter to Explorers ? Who would you cast in a new version of Back To The Future ? Should they dare to remake ET ? Is someone, somewhere, begging for a 21st Century take on Hawk The Slayer - other than SFX Editor in Chief Dave Bradley?

Are there movies you want modern cinema to revisit? Are there movies you want modern cinema to leave well alone? Is this sacrilege - or opportunity?

Let us know your thoughts and you could appear in the letters pages of issue 256 of SFX , on sale Wednesday 10 December.
