I can feel my willpower being given a super-heroic test, because many Marvel Legends helmets (like the incredible Wolverine mask replica, or Spider-Man's mask with moving eye lenses) have been given massive discounts - and in some cases, they've never been cheaper.
Amazon is currently slashing prices on everything from tech to the best toys in its Spring Deal Days sale, and even though a few reductions leave something to be desired, others are tailor-made to drain my bank balance. I present to the jury exhibit A), the incredible Marvel Legends Wolverine replica mask that just hit a record low price of £67.49 at Amazon UK rather than the usual £104.99. I've had my eye on this for a while because of how screen-accurate it looks with all that fancy weathering, and this new price wouldn't make me wince when I reached checkout. Similarly, the Daredevil and Billy Club set is also enjoying a bargain (including in the USA, where it's 15% less via Amazon US). However, the only other replica that has me anywhere near as tempted is the phenomenal Spider-Man mask with moving eye lenses. It's never been cheaper at Amazon UK, and is also rocking a $10 discount in the US.
I can't get over how good the ode to Tom Holland's Spidey is. It provides a wearable, screen-accurate version of Spider-Man's Homecoming mask (with faceshell so it doesn't look weird while you've got it on), but the real showstopper are the eyes that change shape based on a small remote control. I'd love this just for my shelf, but I can see cosplayers adoring it as the final touch to their costume.
No matter what, the thing that always amazes me about these is just how absurdly detailed - and how well-weathered - they are. Most replicas of this quality are double the cost, so seeing such premium results for less than £100 is impressive.
Mind you, this is all made by Hasbro Pulse, e.g. the team behind Star Wars Black Series props. In other words, these folks know how to make phenomenally screen-accurate gear that looks as though it's been stolen from a movie set on a budget.
Because Amazon's Spring Deal Days offers won't last long (they run from March 10-16), you don't have long to take advantage of the offers. Move quickly if you want one or more of these for your shelf!
