Black Friday gaming laptop deals are really revving their engines now. While some of last week's hottest offers are now off the table, others are swooping in to take their place.
Most notably, Dell has rolled back a few of its biggest Alienware discounts in the last days - just as Best Buy launches its own early Black Friday gaming laptop deals. That means the yellow-label store is the place to be for savings ahead of the big day this week. I'm seeing hefty price cuts on some of my absolute favorite rigs here.

When will Black Friday gaming laptop deals start?
Black Friday gaming laptop deals are due to kick off on November 28, however last year (like the years before it) we saw the vast majority of discounts hitting the shelves from the start of Thanksgiving week. You'll find gaming laptop deals picking up steam in general from October onwards, but the biggest discounts will be available from Monday November 24.

What to expect from Black Friday gaming laptop deals in 2025
Every year brings a new roster of gaming laptops to the shelves, but 2025's collection looks a little different. We've got brand new RTX 50-Series GPUs to contend with now, and considering the older 40-Series is still offering plenty of power things are going to get interesting.
Older generation machines have fled the shelves a little faster than I had expected, and aren't dropping their prices like they used to. That means there's a little jostling at the top where value is concerned - you'll find an RTX 4050 machine on sale for between $800 and $1,000 just as often as you would an RTX 5050 version. If, on Black Friday, an RTX 5070 gaming laptop can confidently compete with an RTX 4080, some interesting decisions will need to be made.
There are five gaming laptops I'll be watching out for this year.
First is the HP Omen Max 16. This slimline machine sits at the top of my recommendation list, offering benchmark-breaking power with a gorgeous OLED display, super slick chassis, and a price tag that doesn't top the market. That's a hell of a combination, and considering it's frequently been on sale over the course of the year so far, we'll likely see some serious savings here.
Next is the Alienware 16 Area-51. This is a neat machine, it's stacked far more for power rather than display quality or build luxury. However, it does boast one of the best keyboards I've used so far and, more importantly, Dell certainly isn't shy of a discount on these machines.
Then we have the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. The 2025 version is my go-to 14-inch portability wizard thanks to its boosted configuration options compared to the Razer Blade 14 as well as its slick, ultrabook-like design. Not only that, but it's an incredibly popular rig and often does well in major sales events. I don't think I've seen a Black Friday where this model doesn't feature, and it's normally offering pretty good value once it's spent some time on the shelves.
Speaking of Razer, gaming laptop number four is the Razer Blade 16. If you want an immersive display you can be proud of, this is where you need to look. The QHD+ OLED on this rig blew me away just as much in 2025 as it did the first time last year, but the RTX 5090 configuration I tested has also sailed through the year staying close to the top of comparative benchmarks as well. It's one of my favorite machines on the market, and it's only just started seeing its own meatier discounts.
Of course, you don't need to spend Razer money to get an OLED gaming laptop. In fact, this display tech has become far more popular in cheaper machines this year. If you're after something a little more affordable but still want that luxury display you'll want to keep a close eye on the Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 10. There's more glare here than you'll find in Razer's model, and a little less punch overall, but it's still an impressive display at the Legion's price level.
What should you look for in this year's Black Friday gaming laptop deals?
Knowing the model and spec you're on the hunt for is sometimes half the battle when it comes to big sale events. Prices will drop quickly once we get into October, so it's important that you're crystal clear on exactly what you want to get out of your machine. That way you can make a decision fast, and speed is often a crucial factor when competing in the higher quality flash sales.
If you're after an entry level system to play smaller titles or indie games, it's worth pitching your spec at an RTX 4050 or RTX 5050 graphics card, 16GB RAM, and a 13th or 14th generation i5 or Ryzen 5 5000-Series. This kind of rig won't cost you much at all - sitting at $600 / £600 in the lower end of Black Friday gaming laptop deals and generally tapping out at $900 / £900. You might not need to invest too much in a larger SSD for this use - your games will be smaller and you've got more room to be efficient in your storage use. Do make sure, however, that you're getting a nice 1080p screen with a refresh rate of at least 144Hz to make sure you're future proofed up top.
If you're looking to sprinkle some larger Triple-A releases in there, it might be time to upgrade your watchlist. An AMD Ryzen 7 processor will still suffice if you're not looking to go too hard, though if you're also going to be using your rig for productivity you may benefit from the increase to an Intel Core Ultra or AI-focused Ryzen model. The extra cash will also steer you into RTX 5060 / RTX 5070 territory - the sweet spot for generalist use. You'll be able to get clean and smooth gameplay on larger titles with this kind of configuration, with performance holding up even with the same 16GB RAM under the hood, though you'll need to move up to 32GB if you opt for an RTX 5070. A 1TB SSD is a must here. All in all, you can expect to pay $1,000 - $1,500 for an RTX 5060 and $1,300 - $1,800 for an RTX 5070 over Black Friday, provided you opt for a value-oriented chassis.
Looking to blast through newer releases on Ultra settings without breaking too much of a sweat? It's time to boost your spec. An Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5080 GPU will see you through here. You'll be spending between $2,000 and $3,000 on an RTX 5080 rig day to day, with higher prices reserved for machines with luxury displays and more RAM.
Those after an RTX 5090 machine will be the real heavy-hitters. You'll be looking to use demanding ray tracing features constantly and with High or Ultra settings enabled. Do make sure, though, that you're not picking up a gaming laptop particularly cheap just because it's skimping on the screen, though. You'll want a QHD+ or UHD display at around 240Hz to really make the most of your investment in that graphics card.
Is Black Friday a good time to buy a gaming laptop?
I see gaming laptop deals landing year-round - and some of them may beat Black Friday's prices. However, the vast majority of record low prices we see come from these November sales. That's because retailers and brands are readying for a new wave of releases to be announced in January, and need to shift a good amount of the previous year's stock before that happens. Black Friday gaming laptop deals' placement at the end of the year primes even newer configurations for particularly special savings. On top of that, this is the most popular savings event of the year, which means there's plenty more competition driving prices even further down.
