Everything in the Helldivers 2 Python Commandos Warbond and is it worth it?

The Helldivers 2 Python Commandos Warbond is here, providing gear fit for jungle warfare against a whole host of enemies, such as a massive minigun, an oversized chainsaw, and a flamethrower drone – it's essentially a bigger and badder version of Viper Commandos. There are also the usual cosmetics and armor sets, which include the exclusive Rock Solid armor passive to help you boost your melee damage and resist the staggering and ragdolling effects of certain attacks. But it's also quite a pricey Warbond in terms of Medals, so here's a full breakdown of all the rewards in Python Commandos.

Is the Helldivers 2 Python Commandos Warbond worth getting?

So far, the Python Commandos seems like a fairly middling Warbond – certainly not bad, but also not quite one of the best Helldivers 2 Warbonds. It's got some fun and powerful gear but there are plenty of drawbacks compared to other Warbond items – I want to like the chainsaw, but it's very dangerous to use and you have to build your loadout around melee combat to get much out of it! Everything is certainly usable in Helldivers 2 but won't blow your socks off. I've also not really noticed the benefits of the Rock Solid armor passive all that much.

If you choose to buy the Python Commandos Warbond, you'll be able to unlock 18 new items – one loadout weapon, two armor sets, three Helldivers 2 Stratagems and a bunch of cosmetics – using Helldivers 2 Medals, which are as follows:

    • AR/GL-21 One-Two (35 Medals): A light-armor-penetrating assault rifle that's very similar to the standard Liberator, but it comes with an underbarrel grenade launcher for some explosive power that can help you clear enemy nests, fabricators, and warp ships.

    • 'Guard Dog' Hot Dog (75 Medals): A Guard Dog drone variant equipped with a Torcher flamethrower from the Helldivers 2 Freedom's Flame Warbond that will fly ahead and incinerate enemies.

    • RS-20 Constrictor armor (45 Medals): A light Helldivers 2 armor set with the Rock Solid passive, granting 100% more melee damage and resistance to being knocked prone.

    • Front-Leaning Rest Position Emote (20 Medals)

How to get the Helldivers 2 Python Commandos Warbond

The Helldivers 2 Python Commandos Warbond is now available to buy in the Superstore for the usual 1,000 Helldivers 2 Super Credits. Once you own the Warbond, you'll then need to spend Medals on unlocking all the items contained within, just like every other Warbond. Of course, if you own the Super Citizen Edition of the game and still haven't spent your Helldivers 2 Warbond Token, then you may want to use it on this if it takes your fancy.

If desert warfare is more your style, then you might want to take a look at the Helldivers 2 Dust Devils Warbond, but if you prefer representing another FPS franchise, then the Helldivers 2 Halo ODST Warbond might be worth checking out instead.
