EOFY gaming deals 2026: EOFY is over, but PS5 and Switch deals remain
Our frequently updated guide to one of the biggest deals events on the Aussie calendar
EOFY 2026 sales are starting to disappear as July kicks in. In a year that's been awful for the budget conscious, thanks to price hikes and the ongoing AI-induced component shortage, EOFY offered some decent opportunities to save, though not necessarily on big ticket consoles.
EOFY 2026 sales were decent for games though, and some bargains still remain. Physical media isn't (directly) affected by the RAM and SSD crisis, so if you've been eyeing off a recent blockbuster but don't want to pay full price, outlets like Amazon, JB Hi-Fi, Mighty Ape and eBay will almost certainly have some bargains up their sleeves.
Here's what's left:
PlayStation EOFY deals
A nice price on the most recent mainline Assassin's Creed adventure, which after years of fan demand, is set in Japan. According to our reviewer, "its dual protagonists improve on the series' stealth-driven roots and modern RPG leanings, though they're let down by a vague story that fails to make full use of either character."

Gearbox's newest open world looter shooter gets a tidy discount in the months after launch, despite Randy Pitchford suggesting it wouldn't happen. If you're after a 50+ hour RPG sprawl that you can play with friends, this is well worth it at this price.

It's hardly GOTY material, but if you're after a Soulslike with a thick anime veneer, Code Vein 2 is the best example of that since, well, Code Vein. This was AU$109 at release in February, so for AU$39, only five months later, is a bit of a bargain.

If you're after a gorgeous crime drama set in early 20th century Italy, you could do much worse than Mafia The Old Country. This one's also good if you're over the trappings of modern blockbuster open world games: sure, there's a big ol' map, but this one keeps things very story focused.

Although the ticket price on this is AU$44 now, it was at least AU$89 upon release back in March, so AU$29 is pretty extraordinarily cheap for a 2025 title. Sure, it's proven divisive, but if you're a fan of the series or have a crew who want to stab a bunch of monsters to death in a pretty open world, it's a good time.

Nintendo EOFY deals
The wireless Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller takes after its predecessor, but this time is decked out with new re-mappable GL/GR buttons, and the new 'C' button to initiate the brand-new Switch 2 Game Chat feature. This discount makes it a touch more affordable if you want to give your Joy-Cons a rest.

Having an extra set of Joy-Con 2 controllers can come in handy, especially if you plan to play a lot of local Mario Kart World. This extra pair comes with both the left and right updated Joy-Con 2 controllers, which includes the newly updated HD rumble and mouse controls.

A little over AU$20 off this modern classic (which, I feel inclined to add, has now released across three Nintendo generations). If you've never played it, this is obviously the best way to do so.

Yes, Tears of the Kingdom is getting the "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" treatment too, though if you're new to the Switch Zelda games you should definitely start with Breath of the Wild. This is a good price for a meaty open world adventure.

If you didn't buy the Switch 2 bundle, you're going to need Mario Kart World whether you like it or not. It is basically law that everyone with a Nintendo console needs whichever Mario Kart game releases for that gen. Think you can get away with it? I dare you.

Amazon has carved 19% off the RRP for this new Pokémon game. It's the first in the series to release natively for Nintendo Switch 2 (though it's coming to the older Switch too) so expect proceedings to be sharper and smoother than the famously ropey Scarlet & Violet. This one ditches turn-based combat for a live-action approach that's reminiscent of the Xenoblade Chronicles games.

Hazelight's two-player odyssey skipped the original Nintendo Switch, but here it is for the Nintendo Switch 2. This co-op game is perfect for the extremely co-op friendly new console.

EOFY Gaming deals 2026: What you need to know
When will EOFY sales start in 2026?
While it would make sense for EOFY sales to start at either the end or the beginning of the financial year, deals are not at the mercy of facts. EOFY sales have already started in some quarters, so expect it to be a long sales period running from early May through to the end of July. Yep, it's a long one.
The EOFY sales period generally just runs for as long as retailers want it to run. For that reason, it's probably a good idea to do some extra digging if you're in the market for any big ticket item. Or better still, keep an eye on this page.
Are EOFY sales good for gaming deals?
While consoles may not go super cheap this year due price hikes and the ongoing RAM and SSD component shortage, there should be some decent discounts on games and peripherals. In other words, if you're after a recent blockbuster game cheap, or need a new headset or controller, it's worth keeping an eye on this page.
Will PS5 consoles be discounted?
Since Sony's Days of Play sales event usually coincides with EOFY sales, it's likely that PS5 consoles will receive a discount during the May - July period. That said, given recent price hikes on PS5 consoles—the cheapest model is now AU$919—it's unlikely we'll see deals quite as good as we did last year. For example: in 2025, you could grab a PS5 disc edition with Astro Bot bundled in for AU$699—an extraordinary bargain by today's measure.
Does Amazon get involved in EOFY sales?
Usually Amazon hosts its creatively-named Mid-Year Sale event in June, which is basically their equivalent to a big EOFY blow out. Amazon hasn't announced plans to run that promotion again in 2026, but it's only a matter of time.
