I'll always be a physical media girlie, so I'm stocking up on these 4th of July PS5 game deals while I can
4th of July PS5 game sales are still worth taking advantage of
Sony may be leaving the world of physical games behind in 2028, but I'm taking full advantage of my PS5's disc-reading ways and picking up all the physical titles I can, while I can.
If this week's Sony announcement has riled you up to do the same, I want to let you know that this will not be a cheap endeavour. Which is exactly why I recommend taking full advantage of every sales event you can until January 2028, like this weekend's 4th of July gaming deals. As friends and family prepare for the firework-driven festivities, plenty of physical PS5 games have returned to record low prices, like High on Life, which is now $39.99 (Amazon).
If you're after another 2026 release, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined has returned to $44.99 (Amazon), and the Until Dawn remake has dropped to its lowest ever price of $29.99 at Amazon to get you in the Summerween mood. No matter what you're after, there are quite a lot of deals afoot this July 4. And as much as I know Sony's recent announcement is a huge bummer, nothing feels quite like telling them how you feel than picking purely physical deals.

If you've got plenty to play during this weekend's celebrations, why not pick up one of the best PS5 controllers, the best SSDs for PS5, or one of the best monitors for PS5 to light up your Sony setup.
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
