Amanda Seyfried looks set to shed her clean-cut girl-next-door image in upcoming biopic Lovelace , for which she is in talks to play renowned porn star turned feminist activist Linda Lovelace.
The notorious star of 1972 film Deep Throat , Lovelace (born Linda Boreman) turned her back on her former career in later life, becoming a prominent anti-pornography campaigner under the name Linda Marchiano.
The film is being directed by Howl ’s Jeffery Friedman and is based on Eric Danville’s biography, The Complete Linda Lovelace . The script is being adapted by W. Merritt Johnson and will tell the story from the perspective of three reporters interviewing Linda at various points in her life.
Peter Sarsgaard is also in talks to join the project, with the Green Lantern star earmarked for the role of Chuck Traynor, Lovelace’s pornographer husband. James Franco had initially been attached to the role.
The film is actually one of a pair of Lovelace biopics in the works, with Matthew Wilder’s Inferno also at the pre-production stage. That film had both Lindsay Lohan and Anna Faris pencilled in to play Lovelace, with Malin Akerman thought to be the latest actress in the frame. Production is set to begin on Lovelace in January.
