Alice Eve is the latest actress to be beamed up to join the cast of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek 2.
The British actress, best known for her roles Stateside in Sex And The City 2 and She’s Out Of My League , will play a brand new character to the franchise.
No details have been announced as to whether she will be friend or foe to the the inhabitants of the USS Enterprise, though it is likely she will be playing someone "familiar to Trekkies" according to "insiders".
Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana are all on board to reprise their roles in the sci-fi sequel with filming expected to be kicking off early next year. Intriguingly, there's said to be another older villain - who'll play second fiddle to Benicio Del Toro - yet to be cast

Alice Eve can next be seen in The Raven alongside Luke Evans and John Cusack. That one's due to hit the cinemas in March.
