343 Industries announced to TGS audiences that plans to bring the classic Halo map Headlong to Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary with the new title of Breakneck. First introduced in Halo 2, the map is set within the New Mombasa locale. Breakneck’s original geography has been updated with tweaked visuals and audio for the upcoming release. Check out video footage, showcasing the classic map’s new look and some shots of the map being used as God intended: as the backdrop for brutal Spartan-on-Spartan violence.
The announcement of Breakneck arrives in good time to ensure that Halo: Reach fans will be looking forward to Combat Evolved’s Oct. 4. That’s when the multiplayer beta for Combat Evolved Anniversary will be available to all Reach players with an active Xbox Live Gold membership. By the time the game launches on Nov 15, a full complement of classic maps and playlists will be part of the suite of multiplayer options, as well as fan favorites, like the original's Magnum pistol. Looking forward to a taste of the new Headlong?
