How to complete Shoring Up Defenses in Arc Raiders
Shoring Up Defenses has you finding a Stacking Yard Crane and boarding up hotel windows in Riven Tides
To complete Shoring Up Defenses in Arc Raiders you have to explore the seafront, defeat some enemies, and repair some locations - boarding up hotel windows and repairing a raider structure on top of a crane in the Stacking Yard. While the last of these is relatively straightforward, finding the location of the hotel windows and Raider structure isn't easy in a map this size. Fortunately I've done it myself, and I'll show you where to go and what to do. If you're super organised you can probably double this up with the Battening Down quest, which takes place along the same beach strip of the map.
Shoring Up Defenses walkthrough in Arc Raiders
There are four Shoring Up Defenses objectives in Arc Raiders, to be completed on the Riven Tides map:
- Board up shuttered windows in the hotel
- Use 1 ARC Alloy to Reinforce the Raider Structure on top of any Stacking Yard Crane
- Destroy 5 Wasps
- Destroy 3 Fireflies
Fortunately this is not one of those quests in Arc Raiders that have to be completed in one round. You can do any of it in any order, over as many rounds as it takes. For example, I racked up the Wasp and Firefly kills almost by accident doing other things before I even got to this mission, and it's not just the Riven Tides one that count - you can kill them on any map and it will still count.
Where to finds Hotel Shuttered Windows in Arc Raiders
To board up shuttered windows in the hotel, you need to specifically go to the East side of the Hotel Panorama Azzurro, as shown on the map above. When you get there you need to look for these red shuttered windows:
This did confuse me a little as I was looking for open windows, not sealed ones. You can reach them from the inside, or scale the outside wall using the ziplines and circle the balconies until you find one. When you do simply go inside the room and there'll be an interaction point to "Board up Window" to complete this quest.
Where to find the Stacking Yard Crane Raider structure in Arc Raiders
The objective to "use 1 ARC Alloy to Reinforce the Raider Structure on top of any Stacking Yard Crane" isn't hard but it's the least obvious here as, while the cranes are hard to miss, the 'structures' aren't obvious. I found a Raider Structure on top of the Westmost one, which you can access either by climbing the attached building to the South, or by using a zipline from beneath. The exact location is shown on the map above.
I definitely recommend bringing an Alloy into the game with you from the start to save time, but it's not hard to get - simply kill any Arc and you'll probably get some.
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
Once you reach the structure - a small barely there lean-to - check the supports to get an interaction that will let you use the Alloy to repair it, completing this objective for you.
Where to destroy Fireflies and Wasps for Shoring up Defenses
The Stacking Yard and most of the coastal area is definitely one of the best places to hunt Wasps and Fireflies. They're common enemies here, but there's rarely anything more deadly. The stone buildings also offer useful chokepoints to fire out of, giving you strong defenses, while there are long sightlines to find them.
Shoring up Defenses rewards in Arc Raiders
Once you've completed all the objectives head back to Apollo to get the rewards tied to this quest, specifically:
