Subnautica 2 Habitat Builder fragment locations
To craft a Habitat Builder in Subnautica 2, you first need to scan two fragments of the tool, so here's where to find them fast
The Subnautica 2 Habitat Builder can only be crafted once you've unlocked the blueprint. To do so, you must scan two Habitat Builder fragments using your scanner tool. However, while these fragments can be found scattered all over the place, they're hidden among other debris, so finding them isn't necessarily easy if you don't know where to go.
Lucky for you, I've already located the two Habitat Builder fragments closest to your lifepod, so you can get your new home set up quickly. If you think this isn't important, new Subnautica 2 mechanics mean you must build a base far sooner than in the original game, so get this blueprint unlocked quickly, and you'll be on your way.
Subnautica 2 Habitat Builder fragment locations
The two easiest Habitat Builder fragment locations to find early in Subnautica 2 are:
- Outside the Welcome Center, 90m southeast of the lifepod.
- Near the digestion gene donor, 150m north of the lifepod.
Of course, to scan these fragments, you'll first need to craft a Scanner, but that blueprint is automatically unlocked when you start playing. With the Habitat Builder blueprint unlocked, you'll instantly gain some essential base blueprints, including the Subnautica 2 fully functional fabricator, which is required to craft some important survival items.
The only thing that's left to do once you've scanned these Subnautica 2 Habitat Builder fragments is gather materials for building, which is mostly titanium and quartz. Both of these are easily found, but I can help you with the harder-to-find materials, including Lucifer Rotsacs, Fibrous Pulp, and Subnautica 2 silver.

After studying Music and Lifestyle journalism and writing a column for a stylish lifestyle magazine in her hometown of Brighton, Danielle finally found her feet writing about videogames for WePC in 2021. She then honed her guides writing skills at PCGamesN between 2022 and 2026, when she took those skills to GamesRadar as a Guides Writer. Danielle's guides are a safe space - she definitely got stuck before you did, which is why she's perfect for the job. When she's not replaying the Silent Hill games or a more up-to-date single-player horror game, you'll find her fighting for her life in Dead by Daylight, tending to a garden in Stardew Valley, or doing both in Minecraft.
