Where to find Silver in Subnautica 2
Subnautica 2 Silver is an essential crafting material, but it can be hard to find considering its early game implications
If you're looking for where to find Silver in Subnautica 2, you're not alone. It took me a long time to find this crucial material for crafting electronics, which is surprising given its requirement in the O2 tank crafting recipe.
At least this hints that Silver isn't found too deep in Subnautica 2, which is true, but it is hidden in specific cave systems, making it tough to find. Here, I'll walk you through exactly how to find silver as soon as possible, so you can craft that all-important Standard Air Tank.
Where to find Silver in Subnautica 2
To find Silver in Subnautica 2, head about 400 - 500 meters north of your lifepod, and try to find small cave entrances lined with green, glowing flora.
Cave entrances may also be home to Pent, as seen in the image above, which can be another giveaway that you're close to a silver cave. You are likely to come across dangerous Mango Nibblers on this journey, so be sure to pack a med kit. You might also find a few bases, including Sophie's Retreat, so you should make sure your Scanner is fully charged, or that you're carrying a spare battery.
Once you've found Silver in Subnautica 2, you'll be able to craft a Standard Air Tank, as long as you also have Titanium and Rubber, which are far easier to come by. That said, if you're struggling to figure out where to find Subnautica 2 Lucifer Rotsacs, needed to make rubber, check out my separate guide.

After studying Music and Lifestyle journalism and writing a column for a stylish lifestyle magazine in her hometown of Brighton, Danielle finally found her feet writing about videogames for WePC in 2021. She then honed her guides writing skills at PCGamesN between 2022 and 2026, when she took those skills to GamesRadar as a Guides Writer. Danielle's guides are a safe space - she definitely got stuck before you did, which is why she's perfect for the job. When she's not replaying the Silent Hill games or a more up-to-date single-player horror game, you'll find her fighting for her life in Dead by Daylight, tending to a garden in Stardew Valley, or doing both in Minecraft.
