Where to find a Lucifer Rotsac in Subnautica 2
Lucifer Rotsacs are required for crafting rubber in Subnautica 2, here's where you can find them
The delightfully named Subnautica 2 Lucifer Rotsac is required to make rubber, which itself is used in a number of crafting recipes. This is one of the many new resources this sequel introduces, and it's not immediately obvious where it's found.
Luckily, it's far easier to find than you might think, it just looks a little different in the world than it does in your blueprint list. It can also be found very close to your lifepod so, once you know what you're looking for, you won't have any trouble finding it. Here's where you can find Lucifer Rotsac in Subnautica 2, and what it looks like.
Where to find Lucifer Rotsac in Subnautica 2
Subnautica 2 Lucifer Rotsacs are glowing orange orbs that can be found nestled within teal Cradle Shootroot. They can be found lying around the ocean floor in abundance in the area around your lifepod. The Lucifer Rotsacs themselves can be picked up easily, while Shootroot must be cut with a survival multitool and can then be used to craft fiber.
They're much harder to find in the later game, so be sure to stock up before you start venturing too far from the starting area.
Once you've found them, Lucifer Rotsacs can be turned straight into rubber at any fabricator, including the one on your lifepod. However, there are some materials that require a fully functioning Subnautica 2 fabricator or processor to be crafted.
Subnautica 2 Silver is among some of the other harder-to-find resources in the survival game, so check my guides on where to find that, Fibrous Pulp, and Habitat Builder fragments.

After studying Music and Lifestyle journalism and writing a column for a stylish lifestyle magazine in her hometown of Brighton, Danielle finally found her feet writing about videogames for WePC in 2021. She then honed her guides writing skills at PCGamesN between 2022 and 2026, when she took those skills to GamesRadar as a Guides Writer. Danielle's guides are a safe space - she definitely got stuck before you did, which is why she's perfect for the job. When she's not replaying the Silent Hill games or a more up-to-date single-player horror game, you'll find her fighting for her life in Dead by Daylight, tending to a garden in Stardew Valley, or doing both in Minecraft.
