Subnautica 2 console commands have been enabled thanks to the plucky drive of the mod community, and now you can use cheats to make yourself invisible to hostile entities, change the time of day (let there be light!), or insta-kill yourself if you get yourself in a pickle.

While you may not be able to officially use Subnautica 2 cheats in-game yet, a simple mod (or two) unlocks a hidden debug console on PC, bringing it out from the depths of the game's code and up to the surface for all to see. If you want to install it, here's how.

How to get the Subnautica 2 Console Commands mod

To get the Subnautica 2 cheats mod, you first need to download and install UE4SS from Nexus mods, then install the Console Commands mod. Here's how to do it:

Close Subnautica 2.
Download UE4SS.
Extract the downloaded zip file into the Binaries\Win64 folder:
- ...\Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64
  - For Steam, this may be: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64
- Xbox Game Pass: ...\Content\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64
Download the Console Commands mod.
Extract the downloaded zip file into the new ...\ue4ss\mods folder you've just created.
- For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64\u4ss\mods
Launch Subnautica 2 and press F2 once inside your game to bring up the console commands.

If this doesn't work, you may need to close the game again, go back into the folder, navigate to ...\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\ue4ss\mods, then move the DebugUITogglefolder into the mods folder above, ...Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods.

Launch Subnautica 2 again, and pressing F2 should now bring up the console. This worked for me!

How to use Subnautica 2 cheats

While the console shows a wide selection of buttons you can just press to either instantly activate cheats (for example, NoSuffocate turns suffocation on/off) or open another menu for options (for example, the item button brings up a list of items to equip), you can also type cheats into the text box below. Here are the Subnautica 2 commands you'll need:

god - disables/enables damage, hunger, thirst, and oxygen
oxygen - disables/enables oxygen loss
hunger - disables/enables hunger
thirst - disables/enables thirst
invisible - Invisible to hostile lifeforms
night - Sets time to night time
day - Sets time to daytime
nocost - Craft or process anything without resources
unlockall - Gain all recipes, blueprints, and journal entries
Item [name] [amount] - Adds item to inventory (for example, item titanium 3)
kill - Kills player, reprint at Biobed
FOV [#] - Change FOV (for example, FOV 120)
