The Precipice of Truth in Crimson Desert is an abyss puzzle where strange machines, whirring fans, and lasers built in the rocks all try to kill you. This puzzle involves a few steps, and uses a lot of different mechanics you may not have even encountered yet, so its understandable if you're having trouble completing it. To help you through, I'll explain how to solve the Precipice of Truth puzzle and get the artifact at the end.
Precipice of Truth walkthrough and puzzle solution
From the start of the Precipice of Truth island, follow the steps below to solve the puzzle ahead of you and get the artifact.
- At the path which is blocked by a door in the cliff face, back away to let the door open, then use your Axiom Force hand to grab the Orb inside. The slightest pressure should rip it away and collapse the wall, revealing a path beyond. It'll also leave behind a large, electrically charged object: the "Power Core - Gate of Collapse."
- Follow the path, using your Axiom Force to carry the Power Core. At the end of the path are two battery slots - one with a battery, one empty - and a loose battery behind a field on your right. To access the second battery, press the Power Core against the square stone pillar next to the field, which should deactivate it. Then use the Axiom Force to drag the battery to the empty slot, and use Force Palm to slam it into place. When both batteries are in place a large fan on a separate island nearby will turn on and generate an air current. Float into it and up to a new platform.
- Next, you'll find a floating platform to carry you forward, but beware the turret rock on the right. Again, use Axiom Force to break it and carry the Power Core up with you, where there's another field that needs to be brought down.
Behind this one is a large pressure panel that needs to be installed somewhere. At this point, remember to put the Power Core in your Kuku Pot with the "Seal" button.
- Northeast of the field, along a series of platforms, is a slot to place the pressure panel. Carry it there and use Force Palm to install it into place. Once there, it should activate the machinery, including another fan that creates an air current going horizontally. Ride that current to the other side of the island, where there's another barrier.
- Remove the Power Core from your Kuku Pot and use it to open the barrier, taking out the Panel and installing it like last time. With both panels up and running, this should trigger a large pair of fans next to each other.
- Jump to the fans and ride the current upwards. At the top, climb onto the huge button and use Force Palm to trigger it, completing the puzzle and spawning the Abyss Artifact on the ledge above.
If you're early on in Crimson Desert, this might be a difficult puzzle to deal with, as the platforming requires quite a lot of stamina. Not to mention that moving things around without the Kuku Pot - which is unlocked during the campaign - is pretty hard, although not impossible, to do. It's up to you really - doing it early will make life harder generally so maybe level a touch and come back .
