Somerhalder Goes From The Grave To The Cradle
Lost and The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder has nabbed the lead role in a romantic gothic fairy tale movie, Cradlewood. According to The Hollywood Reporter , the story is about an Australian woman (played by Emma Lung) living in Boston with the heir (Somerhalder) to an incredible fortune. His family’s history involves the legend of a pact made with a demon which ensures that whenever a boy is born into the family, the father is killed. When Somerhalder’s character suspects that his girlfriend is pregnant he becomes convinced that he will die. The indie film is being produced by Hand Picked Films and Instinct Entertainment with former art director and FX guy Harry Weinmann directing. "We see this is as almost like an American-style Pan's Labyrinth in look and feel," says producer Michel Shane. "It's a perfect segue for the kids who have outgrown Twilight but want something romantic and scary. Our monster will be quite terrifying; she is sexually attractive and monstrous at the same time."

Shyamalan-Written Horror Film On The Way
Chris (Julie and Julia) Messina is set to star in Devil, a horror film based on a story by M Night Shyamalan. Universal Pictures is producing the pic which will be directed by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle, previously best known for Quarantine, reports Variety . The plot’s details are under wraps, but the script is being written by Brian (30 Days of Night) Nelson. It may have a twist.

Zodiac Killings
Zenescope Entertainment has bought the rights to Horroscope, a comic book series about a young psychic whose murder triggers vengeance-seeking signs of the Zodiac. The comic, written by Las Vegas lounge singer and former Beverley Hills 90210 actor Brian Evans has yet to be published.
