The Batman 2 casting is being drip-fed by Matt Reeves and DC fans think they know who's coming next
Is Barry Keoghan's Joker about to return?
The Batman 2 is about to start filming and director Matt Reeves has been busy confirming the movie's cast. Posting on X, he shared several gifs from the first movie announcing who is coming back this time around.
Among the line-up is Colin Farrell returning as The Penguin following his spin-off HBO show. Jeffrey Wright will also be returning as Jim Gordon and Andy Serkis is back as Alfred Pennyworth. The final announcements were the return of Jayme Lawson as Bella Real and Gil Perez-Abraham as Officer Martinez.
However, Reeves reassured people that more announcements were on the way as there were some pretty big omissions in the line-up. For example, he didn't post about Sebastian Stan joining the cast as Harvey Dent, nor confirm the rumors of Charles Dance and Scarlett Johansson's involvement in the sequel.

Probably the biggest omission that has fans wondering if a big casting announcement is on the way is Barry Keoghan. The actor wasn't confirmed as the Joker in the list of updates, despite appearing in a The Batman deleted scene and being largely expected to return.
Posting on Twitter, one suggested: "I think Matt Reeves could announce the following tomorrow: Barry Keoghan as The Joker, Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Dent, and Con O'Neill as Chief Mackenzie Bock." Meanwhile another speculated: "Ending all these tweets with my friend… he's ending it with the Joker announcement isn't he."
A third wrote: "Can't wait to see the reactions when Matt Reeves tweets a gif of Keoghan Joker." For his part, Keoghan hasn't yet announced if he'll be in the sequel, having declined to comment in a recent interview with Deadline, but that's certainly not a no…
We'll have to wait and see what happens tonight with the latest announcements. In the meantime, check out our guide to how to watch the DC movies in order.
