The first Star Wars Battlefront from EA had a laser (blaster?) focus on the original trilogy, but Star Wars Battlefront 2 (opens in new tab) lets you play through all 40 years of Star Wars canon. A panel of developers at Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 (opens in new tab) confirmed that the game's multiplayer component will let players wage war from the original trilogy all the way up through the events of The Force Awakens - and possibly beyond.
And yes, that means you'll be able to take control of everybody from Darth Maul to Luke Skywalker to Kylo Ren. The gang's all here.
One piece of art showed Clone Troopers assailing their home planet of Kamino, which appeared in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. And it looks like Star Wars Battlefront 2 will revisit some locations from the first game, given this scene of a Rebel riding a tauntaun on Hoth from the trailer (opens in new tab).
