Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, January 13 - 15. Bad Juju!

Xur, Destiny’s travelling weekend trader, accordion restoration specialist, and accomplished amateur knife-fighter, is back. This week he’s in the Reef, and he is selling the following tools of death and destruction for the fun of the whole family. Good old Xur.

• Bad Juju (Exotic Pulse Rifle) - 23 Strange Coins
• Empyrean Bellicose (Exotic Titan Helmet) - 13 SC
• Young Ahamkara’s Spine (Exotic Hunter Gauntlets) - 13 SC
• Voidfang Vestments (Exotic Warlock Chest Armour) - 13 SC
• Legacy Exotic Engram (Special weapon) - 31 SC
• Three of Coins – 7SC
• Glass Needle – 3SC

What’s good? Get on Bad Juju straight away, if by some dark mishap you don’t already have one. It’s a savage marauder of a pulse rifle, auto-reloading and increasing damage output after every kill, and recharging your Super as it goes. With bonus accuracy for hip-fire, it’s very much a weapon designed for constant, murdery momentum, so if you like to get stuck in – and absolutely, positively got to kill every motherphalanx in the room – accept no substitute.

On the armour side of things, it’s a fairly decent, but unremarkable, bag of things we’ve seen quite a bit recently. The Titans’ Empyrean Bellicose lets you float in mid-air while aiming down the sights – effectively copying the Warlocks’ Angel of Light perk. It’s not as handy as you’d expect in PvE, but pretty decent for surprising your opponents in the Crucible, particularly on vertically-focused maps. The Hunters’ Young Ahamkara’s Spine gives out double Tripmines, and increases the duration of each trap. Again, it’s primarily a Crucible Exotic, and the most use in objective-based game modes, but if that fits in with your play-style, you’ll find it very useful.

The Warlocks’ Voidfang Vestments have very situational value, adding an extra seeker to Axion Bolt grenades – so if you don’t use them, you can pretty much forget it – and ensuring that you always spawn with a full grenade gauge. Again, it’s all very Crucible-focused, though the latter perk is handy if you have a build where grenade hits charge other gauges.

As ever, Xur will be around until 10am UK / 2am PT on Sunday, at which point he’ll spirit himself away for another week. Almost inevitably with a bottle of very hard spirits.
