Destiny: Xur weapons, gear and location, November 18 - 20. Suros Regime!

Xur, Destiny’s weekend Exotic trader, Venusian rum smuggler, and tireless, principled altruist, is back. This week he’s over in the Reef, having a bit of an existential ponder while staring out at the cosmic purples. He’s decided that, within the great scheme of things, he’s basically fucking brilliant.

But anyway, what’s he selling this week? Well…

• Eternal Warrior (Exotic Titan helmet) – 13SC
• Knucklehead Radar (Exotic Hunter helmet) – 13SC
• The Impossible Machines (Exotic Warlock gauntlets) – 13SC
• Suros Regime (Exotic scout rifle) – 17SC
• Legacy Engram (Zhalo Supercell Ornament) – 25 Silver Dust
• Born in Fire (Young Wolf’s Howl Ornament) – 25 Silver Dust
• Three of Coins – 7SC
• Glass Needle – 3SC

Is any of it any of it any good though? Variably, yes.

The Eternal Warrior is handy, but not vital, granting Unstoppable Force – ie. greater invulnerability during the Titans’ Fist of Havoc super – for free. Handy in the Crucible, and for safely supering large groups of tough enemies in PvE (especially if you’re not sure you’re going to take them all out, but want to do a lot of damage regardless), but not 100% essential. The Hunters’ Knucklehead Radar is better – or at least more wide-ranging in its use – in that it furnishes any primary weapon with active radar when scoped – though again, perhaps more of a Crucible-ccentric Exotic. And as for the Warlocks’ Impossible Machines, they’re another ‘get this skill-tree perk for free’ affair, this time granting Landfall, meaning that you can drop huge lighting bolts when activating the Stormtrance super, and have chain lightning or evasive teleporting to play with as well.

And the gun? Suros Regime is still a pretty damn strong auto rifle, albeit somewhat nerfed from its horrifically unbalanced glory days. When zoomed, it will fire slower – though eventually ‘spin up’ to a faster firing rate – but do more damage, and it also does additional damage with the second half of each mag, and has a chance to refill health on a kill. It’s decent, but not as ‘OMGBUYITNOW’ as it once was. But if you have Strange Coins burning a hole in your pocket and like the idea of a fancy new auto, go for it.

As ever, Xur will be around until 10 am UK / 2 am PT on Sunday, at which point he’ll disappear for the week, and probably be roaring drunk for a good proportion of that time.
