Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, February 26-28. Truth!

Xur, Destiny’s weekend merchant, collector of Strange Coins, and resident Boggle champion (two years running) is back in the Tower. Specifically, he’s hanging around opposite Lord Shaxx in the belly of the Tower, trying to scrub some bubblegum off his cape. Which is difficult when you're made of tentacles and smoke. He's got a rather tasty weapon this week, and some not-too-shabby armour to boot, so it's time to spend those Coins.

  • Ruin Wings (Exotic Titan gauntlets) – 13SC
  • Mask of the Third Man (Exotic Hunter helmet) – 13SC
  • Light Beyond Nemesis (Exotic Warlock helmet) – 13SC
  • Truth (Exotic Rocket Launcher) - 23SC
  • Legacy Heavy Weapon engram – 31SC
  • Three of Coins – 5 Strange Coins
  • Glass Needles – 3 Strange Coins

Should you buy Truth? Yes. While it always feels like an extravagance to take an Exotic Heavy into the Crucible, Truth pretty much guarantees kills thanks to its tracking perk, and early detonation of warheads when you shoot anywhere near an enemy. It's as close to 'fire and forget' as anything in the game. These special abilities have limited use in PvE, but Truth still packs a punch... it just isn't the best tool for the job. But in PvP it's a monster.

The armour? Well, Ruin Wings certainly isn't the best Titan Exotic out there (hold out for Empyrean Bellicose, Twilight Garrison, or No Back-up Plans), but it can be handy when you're raiding thanks to the increased frequency of Heavy Ammo pick-ups. Mask of the Third Man may be the pick of the bunch, specifically if you're a Blade Dancer Hunter. The decreased drain on your Super while Arc Blade is active means you can slice for longer, which makes you a menace against larger hordes and on smaller Crucible maps. Light Beyond Nemesis is a handy piece of kit to have for PvE play, as it allows quicker revives for both you and team mates. However, this becomes less useful if you're tackling harder missions with timed revives, so there are definitely better Warlock items out there.

Three of Coins and Glass Needles are available as ever, and there's a Legacy Heavy Weapon engram for 31SC. Bit pricey considering there aren't too many legacy HWs that have tasty Year 2 equivalents, so it's only recommended for completionists and Gjallarhorn fetishists.

As ever, Xur will be in the Tower until 10am UK / 2am PT on Sunday, when he'll be gone forever. Or at least until next week. Yeah, more likely until next week.
