It usually pays to wait. The Black Friday 2025 discounting has effectively started in Australia, with major retailers like JB Hi-Fi and now Amazon triggering their big November sales events well in advance of the official November 28 date. I highlighted some of the PS5 bargains from JB Hi-Fi yesterday, but now that Amazon has come on board, it's looking like, uh, bad news for anyone who bought Battlefield 6 at launch.

Why? Because as recently as last week, EA's new military shooter cost AU$109. Now, only weeks after the blockbuster launched, Amazon is selling the PS5 version for AU$59. It's an extraordinary price for a newly released game, and one I'd leap on ahead of Christmas.

The price on Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is similarly impressive: Amazon is currently selling it for AU$60, down from its AU$109.95 RRP. That makes it a pretty obvious Christmas present for anyone you know with a PS5.

In what is undeniably the strongest PS5 game deal yet for Black Friday 2025, this brand-new blockbuster Battlefield instalment gets a massive post-launch discount. Widely considered a return to form, Battlefield 6 reviewed very well when it launched last month. Now, just weeks later, many major retailers are offering a huge discount on the RRP of AU$109.95. Whether you're keen to jump in on the multiplayer action, or are just curious about the campaign, this is a significant discount for a game that only released recently.

Borderlands 4

Borderlands 4: was AU$119.95 now AU$69 at Amazon

Similar to Battlefield 6, you could be forgiven for not expecting huge discounts on Borderlands 4 this close to its launch: Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford even tweeted earlier this year that it wouldn't happen. Despite some reservations our reviewer gave it four stars, writing that it's "undeniably an excellent looter shooter, but one that requires a bit of tunnel vision to full enjoy".
