Yes, Helldivers 2 has finally been announced for Xbox for some much-needed reinforcements

Finally, a Helldivers 2 Xbox port is arriving at the end of August, so Xbox Series X and S players will be ready to reinforce the frontlines of the Galactic War soon. More bodies for the meat grinder means more chances to retake territory and complete Major Orders, so this can only be a good thing. Arrowhead hasn't said anything specific, but hopefully there will be a larger game update around this time too to welcome Xbox Helldivers with a trial by fire.

Helldivers 2 will launch on Xbox Series X and S on August 26, 2025. However, it will not be on Game Pass by the looks of things.

You can pre-order it on the Xbox store right now to get some exclusive armor sets:

  • Standard edition = $39.99/£34.99
    • Includes Helldivers 2 base game and the TR-7 Ambassador of the Brand, TR-62 Knight, and TR-9 Cavalier of Democracy armor sets.
  • Super Citizen Edition = $59.99/£51.99
    • Includes all of the above + DP-53 Savior of the Free armor set, Will of the People cape, MP-98 Knight sub-machine gun, Super Citizen title, Stratagem Hero ship minigame, and a Premium Warbond Token (this lets you unlock one of the Helldivers 2 Warbonds for free)

Remember, there is Helldivers 2 crossplay, so you will be able to join other players and play with your friends on PC and PS5, but there is no cross-progression, so don't expect to be able to migrate your account from PC or PS5 to Xbox Series X.

Prior to this announcement, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer had even commented on Helldivers 2's absence on Xbox, saying: "I'm not exactly sure who it helps in the industry by not being on Xbox" (thanks, IGN). Outcry from fans was also so substantial that petitions were started, with this one gaining over 130,000 signatures. Looks like Spencer and these fans both got their wishes.
