How to get the Powered Descender Blueprint in Arc Raiders
The Powered Descender lets you fall safely, but you need to find a blueprint to craft one
The Arc Raiders Powered Descender blueprint lets you craft a useful gadget that can slow your fall - letting you jump from relatively high places and control your descent. It actually fairly easy to get if the RNG gods smile on you, and I was surprised how quickly I got one (after playing just two matches in Riven Tides). Like any other blueprint, this one can technically spawn anywhere on the map, though there are certain zones you can focus on to improve your chances. Here’s where to find the Powered Descender blueprint, as well as some tips on speeding up the process. You'll be spending a lot of time on the Riven Tides map so check out the Arc Raiders Avian Alarm project as well to see what else you can tick off while you're looking for things.
Arc Raiders Powered Descender Blueprint location
To find the Powered Descender Blueprint you just need to head into the Riven Tides map and start looting. There's a chance of getting the blueprint from any container, although there are ways to improve your chances. I found mine in the Port Authority Building area on the Riven Tides map. That and the Hotel Panorama Azzurra area are high loot zones (indicated by their red outlines) so should give you better blueprint odds theoretically. To improve your chances search any and every container you can find in these locations. To increase your luck even further use any keys you find like Hotel Room Keys, or Port Authority key to open locked doors, to access unlooted areas that often have better rewards - I found my descender blueprint in a box on a shelf behind the Port Authority locked door once I had a key.
At this point I’ve found the blueprints multiple times now, without needing to bother too much with keys, or night raids. That being said, locked rooms and Night Raids both have increased chances of higher loot spawns, so you may be able to speed things up by prioritising them. Regardless, play enough raids on Riven Tides, and open enough containers, and the Powered Descender blueprint will drop for you eventually.
Powered Descender crafting recipe
To craft a Powered Descender in Arc Raiders, you need the following components:
Crafting Components | How to get it |
|---|---|
Power Rod (x2) | Loot at the power generation complex on Dam Battlegrounds, and other locations marked as Electrical |
Turbine Compressor (x1) | Dropped by Arc Turbines |
Turbine Compressors are the rarest components here, and you’ll either need to take down an Arc Raiders Arc Turbine or loot Arc Couriers (safer and actually more lucrative). I found a Turbine Compressor this way on Dam Battlegrounds, though it’s a lot more random than looting the Arc Turbine enemies where it's a guaranteed spawn.
The Powered Descender features a power meter much like the Arc Raiders Dockmaster's Detector and the Photovoltaic Cloak. It's a bar that will decrease as you use it, and it’ll stop working once it’s run out. You’ll need to equip the Powered Descender before using it, and then jump off of a high enough ledge.
It takes a second to kick in, but hold the right trigger (left click on PC) to glide down and land safely. If you don’t give the item enough time to kick in, you’ll take a bit of fall damage when you hit the ground. It's also not going to save you from a full speed freefall so practice from some lower heights first to get a feel for it.
