Pokemon Legends: Z-A update 2.0.1 is "one of the greatest and most important so far," fans say, with major quality-of-life improvements and a fix for one of the DLC's biggest annoyances
The Mega Shard limit has been increased, DLC move targeting has been fixed, and more
Pokemon Legends: Z-A just got a new update that fans are calling "one of the greatest and most important so far" thanks to its quality-of-life changes and bug fixes.
Version 2.0.1 of Pokemon Legends: Z-A is out now, introducing tweaks and improvements to both the base game and its Mega Dimension DLC. As far as the base RPG goes, it's now possible to buy berries in bulk. Revealed in the patch notes, "you can now purchase multiple Berries at once" from food stalls (they'll also be available to buy from Nouveau Café's Truck No. 3 after starting the DLC story).
Mercifully, in a change that would have been welcome from the start, the maximum amount of Mega Shards you can carry has gone up from 999 to 9,999. Considering how many you need to accumulate to buy all the Mega Stones (and how quickly you can reach the storage limit without realizing), this is a fantastic improvement that's going to save a lot of extra shopping trips.
As for DLC-specific problems, an issue where "Pokemon may sometimes have faced a different direction from the intended target" when using moves in "certain pockets of hyperspace" has been fixed. This one was a real pain when trying to smash floating Poke Balls for rewards, only for your Pokemon to seemingly ignore orders and fail to land their moves correctly, so hopefully that process will be smoother now.
Bugs that could see the weather get stuck as sunny, not correctly register shiny Pokemon in the DLC's Mega Evolution Pokedex, and stop players from completing the "Start Special Scanning!" side mission have also been fixed. "During missions, images from unrelated scenes may occasionally have been displayed," too, but that shouldn't happen going forward.
Reacting to the patch on Twitter, Pokemon fans are thrilled with the changes. "They just dropped the best goddamn update for this game, like sure, it would've been BETTER if these was in the game from the START but hey, better late than never!" one writes.
"The Pokemon Legends Z-A version 2.0.1 Update is probably one of the greatest and most important so far," says another, adding that "I wish they had increased the mega shards from the very beginning. My hope is that they can do the same with the Gimmighoul coin in the future."
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
"Omg FINALLY buying berries in bulk was so obnoxious before," another adds.
In addition, Legends: Z-A's sixth ranked season has also been officially announced, and is set to run from January 29 to February 19, making the Swampertite Mega Stone available for the first time in the RPG.
