Hytale console commands
Whether you want to teleport or give yourself adamantium armor, you can do it all with these commands
Hytale console commands let you do anything and bend the world to your will. From teleportation to item spawning and more. Once you know how to enter them and the options available you can pretty much do anything.
There are a lot though, so this isn't a complete list and instead it's all the ones I've found the most useful and, more importantly, actually tested. I know these work because I've used them.
If a command lists something in square brackets [...] you just need to name or identifies the thing without the brackets. So 'do [x]' would be typed 'do x'.
Word of warning: it might be best to create a new world specifically for using console commands. I permanently broke my starter world in about 10 minutes of testing these commands and had to create a new one.
How to use console commands in Hytale
To use console commands you just have to press / to open up a text box you can then type your commands into. However, to use commands you might need to use these options to enable and disable admin control for yourself or other players:
op self | This will make you an admin and give you permission to use console commands if you can't already. |
op add [player] | Adds the named player to the admin list and enables console commands for them |
op remove [player] | Removes the named player to the admin list and disables console commands for them |
Help | Brings up a searchable master list of all commands. |
So if you get told you can't use any commands use the op command to give yourself literally world changing power. It's worth keeping 'gamemode creative' and 'gamemode adventure' to hand as well, (which I talk about more below ) as some commands and actions can switch between the two and you might want some control over changing that.
Once you are the admin you'll be able to use any of the commands below. If a command lists something in square brackets [ ] you just need to name or identifies the thing without the brackets. So 'do [x]' would be typed 'do x'.

Hytale server commands
These Hytale Server commands will give you some simple controls over your server like who can join you, as well as the ability to remove and ban people, or whitelist friends if you want.

kick [player name] | Removes a player from the server |
ban [player] --reason | Bans a player citing an optional reason |
unban [player] | Unbans the named player |
stop | Stops the server |
server gc | Clear server date no longer being used |
whitelist add [player name] | Add the named player to the server whitelist |

Hytale player commands
These Hytale player commands give you a few simple options to control your character specifically or change a few useful things if you get in trouble:
heal | Restores health and stamina to maximum |
unstuck | Teleports user to the top of the world at current position |
inventory backpack --size=[x] | Resizes backpack to x |
inventory clear | Removes everything from your inventory, including armor your wearing |
player respawn | Respawn you character |
spawn set | Sets a new spawn point |
spawn [player name] | Spawns the named player at the set spawn point |
whereami | Displays full location coordinates. You can add a play name for someone else's position |
Hytale teleportation commands
You want to be very careful with Hytale teleport commands. Unless you use them specifically, you can teleport yourself into the map and break your world. There are other options I haven't listed here but I would advise ONLY using the commands below as they definitely won't kill you or break anything:
tp home | teleports you home |
warp set [name] | Creates a teleport point you can return to |
warp go [name] | Teleports you to a previously created warp point using its name. |
warp remove [name] | Remove a p[revious created and anmed warp point |
warp list | Shows a list of all the warp points you've made |
spawn | Teleport to where you first spawned in the world |
tp [player] | Teleport to the named player` |
tp top | Teleports you to the highest point above you. Useful to get out of a cave fast. |
As I said there are a lot of other teleport commands that can let you move to specific coordinates and so on, but you'll almost certainly die trying to use them. That's because while you can get an X and Y from the map easily, you can't get a Z (the up and down one) which means you'll end up in the ground or a mountain 99% of the time. For example, when I was testing these my Z, or ground level, was roughly -600. Trying to guess how to change your up and down as you warp halfway across the map has never ended well for me.
Hytale world commands
Here's a few simple Hytale world commands that will let you change and check a few things about where you are. As I mentioned earlier, gamemode creative and gamemode adventure are very useful to change between those options, or change you back is you accidentally switch by using other console commands.
gamemode creative | Changes the game mode to creative |
gamemode adventure | Changes the game mode to adventure |
worldmap discover | Discover all the zones on the map |
worldmap undiscover | Undiscovers all the zones on the map |
worldmap clearmarkers | Clears the map of markers |
worldmap reload | Reloads the map |
Hytale time commands
There's one simple time command in Hytale that will let you switch quickly between different time of day and night. That's probably going to be most useful if you get stuck out in the dark and don't want to deal with all the monsters.
Time [time to choose] | Sets time to the following options: dawn, midday, dusk and midnight |
Hytale item IDs and how to spawn items
You can use Hytale item IDs to spawn items using a few main commands to give yourself or other players things, or simply create them in front of you:
spawnitem | Spawns the listed item in front of the player |
spawnblock | Spawns the listed block |
give | Puts the listed item in the players inventory |
These can then be combined with various Hytale item IDs to give yourself that item. There are, however, around 3000 items in the game so you can use, so use that link to search for things and narrow it down if you want to be specific.
However, there is a sort of hack to find what you need in game. If you type in a partial command - using the terms below and the format of either Command1 on its own, or Command1_Command2 - you can narrow down the options via the help text that appears:
Command 1 | Command 2 |
|---|---|
Bench | Alchemy, arcane, armor, builders, cooking, farming, furnace, furniture, salvage, tannerym weapon, workbench |
Deco | Bone, coral, hive, spiderweb |
Ingredient | Bar (ingot), bolt, bone_fragment, fiber, crystal, chiten, essences, fabric_feathers, hide, leather, motes, powderplant, scrap, strap, stick, stud, tree, voidheart |
Ore | Adamantite, cobalt, copper, gold, iron, mithril, onyxium, silver, thorium |
Plant | Barnacles, bramble, bush, cactus, crop, coral, grass, hay, lavender, leaves, moss, petals, reeds, roots, seaweed, seeds, sunflower, vine |
Tools | hatchet, hoe, pickaxe, shears, shovel, sickle, trap |
Soil | Ash, dirt, grass, gravel, hive, leaves. mud, pathway, roots, sand, seaweed, snow |
Wood | Amber, ash, aspen, azure, bamboo, banyan, beech, birch, bottletree, burnt, camphor, cedar, crystal, dry, fig, fire, fire, Gnarled, gumboab, ice, jungle, maple, oak, palm, palo, petrified, redwood, sallow, spiral, stripped, Stormbark, windwillow, wisteria |
Knowing how to spawn a Hytale repair kit is probably one of the most useful items you can get. To do that press / to bring the text box and type give tool_repair_kit_iron
So typing in 'give wood' will technically return an error but will show you some correct options you can use. Using the list above you can narrow things down a bit and type something like 'give wood_oak' to get another error but also a list of wood-oak options you can spawn.
Generally you'll want to type in the type of item you want, and then the sub type after that, so the reverse order of what it's called in the game. If you want medium hide for example the command would be hide_medium:
give ingredient_hide_medium
Hytale weapons and armor commands
You can use the command 'give' to give yourself armor using the following template:
give armor_[material]_[bodypart]
However, while things like Hytale copper and cobalt are named the same in console commands, player body parts are called head, chest, hands and legs. So if you want to give yourself a cobalt cuirass you would type this:
give armor_cobalt_chest
And for a copper helmet it would be this:
give armor_copper_head
You can give yourself weapons in a similar way. So to gain a copper longswords you would type:
give weapon_longsword_copper
While for an adamantite longsword you would type:
give weapon_longsword_adamantite_saurian
Like the item spawn commands above, you can type in a partial command and the error advice will point you towards what you can use. So, if you type something like 'give weapon_longsword' and hit enter, you'll bring a help dialogue that will show you the list of longsword options.
