GTA Online is getting its first big heist update in 6 years next week with The Kortz Center Heist
GTA Online's The Kortz Center Heist arrives July 14
Rockstar has fully lifted the lid on GTA Online's first big new heist update in six years, The Kortz Center Heist, releasing next week on Tuesday, July 14 for all platforms.
The next big evolution of GTA Online had previously been teased for a July release, but now we know the full details thanks to a new announcement posted to the game's official website. As questions swirl about how long it'll take for the next iteration of GTA Online to join GTA 6, The Kortz Center Heist is likely to be the final big update to GTA 5 Online and is the first official heist update since 2020's Cayo Perico. The Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid update from a couple of years back definitely felt pretty heisty, but it's technically classified as a Raid and Contact mission, making The Kortz Center the first new actual heist in six long years.
The Kortz Center Heist will be playable solo or with a four-player team, which is obviously the preferred choice here. The heist sees you and your friends link up with the mysterious Mr. Faber and his main fixer, Raf De Angelis, to stake out a prestigious art museum and steal its most valuable assets. Of course, even experienced criminals will want to do some preparation before robbing a high-end museum, and that's where the big homebase addition comes in: the art studio. To kick off the new heist, you'll get to open up an art studio property inside your mansion where you can invite and host your friends to show off all of your stolen works of art.
Once you've scoped out the museum, it'll be time to gear up and plan your big break-in, and once you're actually inside the building, Rockstar says you'll want to snap candid pictures of the exhibits to get a better idea of how to get in and out without alerting security and getting yourself capped. That'll involve "covering your tracks," "ensuring no witnesses," and "wiping CCTV footage" to ensure a maximum take.
Sound fun? Rockstar says there's plenty of room for "variability" to re-do the heist solo or with friends in the form of three new paintings to steal every week. And as always, the Kortz Center Heist will keep collectors busy with new vehicles and upgrades. Meanwhile, GTA+ subscribers will be able to get their hands on the new Grotti Veleno GT for free starting July 14, a full week before regular shmoes will get to buy it.

After earning an English degree from ASU, I worked as a corporate copy editor while freelancing for places like SFX Magazine, Screen Rant, Game Revolution, and MMORPG on the side. I got my big break here in 2019 with a freelance news gig, and I was hired on as GamesRadar's west coast Staff Writer in 2021. That means I'm responsible for managing the site's western regional executive branch, AKA my home office, and writing about whatever horror game I'm too afraid to finish.
