Invincible season 4 debuted its first three episodes on March 18, 2026. New episodes will air weekly on Wednesdays. For more, we have an Invincible season 4 release schedule.

The Invincible season 4 reviews have been raving so far, with it currently holding a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Our own Invincible season 4 review praised its hard-hitting action and emotional story beats. We wrote: "Invincible continues to prove it's the gold standard for superhero media with a fourth season that pushes Mark to the limit, ably backed up by two excellent standalone episodes revolving around Viltrum and Hell."

The official Invincible season 4 trailer was released in January 2026, teasing a shock reunion for Mark and his father, Omni-Man, on Earth.

Away from the awkward family drama, there's also a newly assembled Guardians of the Globe and a sprinkling of fresh villain Dinosaurus. Watch it for yourself above.

A later March trailer gave us the first taste of Lee Pace's menacing Viltrum villain, Thragg.

Invincible season 4 story: what's next and what comics could it adapt?

Invincible season 4 is poised to be the most jam-packed season yet, not least because of the sheer amount of villains and plot threads that the third season set up in its finale.

Short term, we know we are going to see a meaner Mark, especially after declaring that he will now kill anyone who puts his family at risk. That philosophy might be put to the test with the return of the Sequid threat, Darkblood attempting to summon Invincible to Hell and – last but most certainly not least – the shock reveal that Conquest is still alive and being held captive by the GDA.

Intriguingly, what comes next with Darkblood is all going to be original. As Kirkman told Variety, there's room for a new storyline that he never got round to writing when penning the comics.

"There’s a storyline from the comic that I never got around to doing. Every superhero story has some chapter where they go to hell and they fight the devil. It happens in DC and Marvel comics. It’s a big deal," Kirkman explained.

"I never got around to doing anything like that in Invincible. I kept getting sidetracked and there was never a good time. So it’s entirely possible that we may be doing something like that in the show, and that scene at the end of that episode is setting that up."

In the long run, the Viltrumites are still the main threat on the radar. To that end, expect the surprise alliance of Omni-Man and Allen the Alien to take the fight to them in the coming season.

In terms of the level of gore, we saw the show step it up a notch in season 3, but it sounds as though season 4 could be even more bloody. Creator Kirkman said the show gets "to hide behind the trailblazing of The Boys as they keep pushing the envelope," and we all know just how gross The Boys season 4 got.

If you're reading along in the comics, Invincible season 4 will likely pick up from issue #66. From there, it's set to adapt the Viltrumite War. No spoilers here, but it'll see Mark and Omni-Man face down their biggest challenge yet. Issue 78 would be a natural end point for the season narratively speaking, but that remains to be seen.

Is Invincible season 4 the final season?

Invincible season 4

If Robert Kirkman and company have their way, there's zero chance Invincible season 4 will be the final season.

In an interview with The Direct, he admitted to giving a different figure every time someone asks how many seasons Invincible will last for, though one constant remained throughout – we're barely halfway through the adaptation process.

"I try to answer this question differently every time, so sometimes I say seven, sometimes I say eight, sometimes I say nine… I think the goal is to adapt the entire comic," Kirkman said. "I would also like to kind of meander a little bit and add some stories along the way that aren't in the comic, because I think that's fun."

Curiously, a crowdfunding campaign from Robert Kirkman's Skybound Entertainment made reference to a season five renewal before being swiftly taken down. Might that have tipped us off to future medium-term plans for the show? Here's hoping, though – as of writing – only Invincible season 4 has been officially greenlit. There are certainly plans for several more seasons, however.

Invincible season 4 cast

Invincible season 4

We've already had confirmation that Steven Yeun and J.K. Simmons will return in Invincible season 4 as Mark Grayson and Omni-Man, respectively. Beyond that, we'd be shocked if Debbie (Sandra Oh) and Oliver (Christian Convery) will complete the family unit.

Elsewhere, Cecil (Walton Goggins) and Donald (Chris Diamantopoulos) will hold down the fort at the GDA. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Conquest should return in some form too. Darkblood (Clancy Brown) and his demon lord, voiced by Bruce Campbell, will have a new storyline, not seen in the comics.

Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs) and Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen) are set to play significant roles in the upcoming arc, so we anticipate they'll get some meaty material to sink their teeth into next season.

A big addition this season will be the voice behind Thragg, a Viltrumite overlord and another massive antagonist. He will be voiced by Lee Pace.

Another newcomer is Dinosaurus, voiced by Matthew Rhys. Robert Kirkman told the assembled crowd at New York Comic Con that the villain would be "very deadly" and completely different to the bad guys Mark has faced down before.

Invincible always loves its big-name talent and The Walking Dead alumni too. To that end, Danai Gurira will be voicing Universa in the upcoming season.

The Invincible season 4 cast is as follows:

  • Steven Yeun - Mark Grayson/Invincible
  • Sandra Oh - Debbie
  • J.K. Simmons - Omni-Man
  • Walton Goggins - Cecil
  • Gillian Jacobs - Atom Eve
  • Seth Rogen - Allen the Alien
  • Christian Convery - Oliver
  • Lee Pace - Thragg
  • Matthew Rhys - Dinosaurus
  • Danai Gurira - Universa
  • Clancy Brown - Darkblood
