Mike Coulter's huge Daredevil: Born Again season 3 cameo may have already been spoiled, but one Marvel fan thinks it also sets up another project. The Luke Cage actor recently shared (and quickly deleted) an image of his character with Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock and Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones on set.
Not only did it reveal a pretty major Defenders cameo, but it also teased an upcoming plot line as Matt can be seen in an orange jumpsuit. We now know that sometime before the beginning of season 3 (and we're betting it's revealed at the tail end of season 2) that Matt ends up in jail.
However, this might not only be a big plot point in Daredevil but also in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as well, based on one fan theory. "Mike Colter may have dropped a big spoiler… Matt Murdock ends up in prison," Marvel Insights speculated in a post on X. "And here's the crazy part; in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer, we see Spider-Man fighting The Hand in the same place where Matt is being held. This could mean a prison break scene. Matt Murdock might be the missing piece from the trailer."
Article continues belowThey also shared a few shots of The Hand from the Spider-Man trailer, as well as a comic book panel of Matt in a prison, suggesting he could have been edited out of the trailer. This wouldn't be the first time that Sony has hidden cameos and spoilers like this by editing out cameos in shots as we saw with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in No Way Home.
This all means that it certainly seems possible that we could get an appearance from Daredevil in the fourth Spidey movie. After all, we do know that Jon Bernthal's Punisher will be appearing and that Cox is no stranger to a Spider-Man cameo. Watch this space.
