Ernie Hudson to make Ghostbusters cameo

Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot is set to bring back another original cast member, with THR reporting that Ernie Hudson will pop up in a cameo role. The man who played Winston Zeddemore in the original films will join fellow former co-stars Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, both of whom have walk-on roles in the new film.

The report claims that Hudson was spotted on set last week as the project wrapped its final day of filming. It’s a nice turnaround for Hudson, who had initially been quoted as labelling the notion of an all-female Ghostbusters movie as "a bad idea" before eventually coming around to describe the project as, "four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts … phenomenal!" Well, quite…

No details have been confirmed as yet as to what the role might entail, although since Feig’s film will not link back to the narrative of the originals, he probably won’t be reappearing as Winston. Co-starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, the new film will open in the US and UK on July 15 2016.
