EA is just a greedy company, nuff said. Steam/Valve know how to run a company and are about the community. I have over 200 games in my steam account most from sales, and they are all games I like. They also promote other games by giving perks and stuff if you pre-order. EA just needs to shutdown origins there is no way its going to beat Steam.

I have not once bought a game on steam at full price. I dont wait for things to drop in price, I just impulse buy when I see a game im vaguely interested in for £5, I wouldnt have bought the games at full price because I dont value them that highly. If steam stopped doing sales I would just stop using it, downloadable games should be much cheaper anyway (not 75% admittedly, but notably cheaper). That said Im not the biggest pc gamer, I feel more comfortable with most genres on console so I dont want to be paying full price for a shooter when ( for me anyway) its a worse experience.

Sales can be the difference between buying a game and not buying a game for me. A lot of my Steam games list is made up of games I bought as a result of a sale, many of these haven't even been played. However, if I have the money and want the game, I'll buy on day of release and won't wait for a sale. So why do most of the games I buy get bought as a result of a sale? I'm a poor Uni student. I cannot afford to blow £30-40 on a brand new game (that's 3 weeks worth of food...). Buying during the sales allows me to buy more games that I wouldn't have tried otherwise since I don't know if I'll like it or not. To conclude, Steam sales has lead me to spend A LOT more money then I would normally have done. Just because EA are greedy f**ks doesn't mean what Steam and other developers are doing is a bad thing. I stopped buying EA's games anyway.
