There have already been six expansion packs released for The Sims 3 (with a seventh due out next month), but EA isn't content with stopping there. No, it's already hard at work on the eighth expansion, The Sims 3 Seasons, which is actually due out two months after Supernatural releases in September.
The expansion will add seasonal change to the mix, including new activities, seasonal festivals and celebrations, dramatic weather effects, and plenty more. With snowball fights in the winter, bobbing for apples in the fall, and face-painting in the summer, the expansion will bring just about everything Sims fans got when The Sims 2 got a similar expansion. Snow!
EA also revealed a pre-order deal, and while it's not as cool as the Plants vs. Zombies bonuses that come with Supernatural, it's still fairly neat. The "Limited Edition" version of the game (see: the one all pre-order customers get) grants them access to the Ice Lounge community lot, a social club that can be placed in any world from The Sims 3. Despite sounding like a winter wonderland, the Ice Lounge is actually around all year, and includes 12 new objects made entirely out of ice.
So, planning on picking it up, or might you wait until another season? Get it? Like, seasonal... never mind.
