Why 2D will never die

Okami (PS2)

Okami's 2D puzzle stages were a welcome diversion from the 3D exploration of the main game. They could have been done using flat sprites (like they used to use in the old days), but Okami 's cel-shaded 3D graphics are so beautiful, they work from whatever angle you view them from. So the side is just fine. With the third dimension removed, control becomes immediately more preciseand we can concentrate on the puzzle. After all, these sections are hard enough without also having to judge 3D space!
