Darktide Skitarii name ideas for your Ad Mech warrior
Here's some inspiration for a good Skitarii name in Darktide
Choosing your Darktide Skitarii name isn’t easy as your options are pretty much unlimited, save for a few restrictions you need to follow. The cyborg soldiers of the Adeptus Mechanicus can have basically any name, but you might want something that's appropriately Warhammer 40,000-y and befitting of an Alpha Primus – or something silly enough to cheer up your fellow Rejects aboard the Mourningstar. With that, I've delved into Darktide and Ad Mech lore to bring you some pointers on how to name your Skitarii warrior.
Darktide Skitarii names
Your Skitarii name in Darktide must follow these rules for you to finish creating your character:
- Can only contain alphanumerical characters and hyphens (-).
- Must be at least 3 characters long but no longer than 18 characters.
- Must not contain more than three numbers.
You can of course choose a random name in the game that will be appropriate to the Adeptus Mechanicus, but it's not quite the same as coming up with a unique name. The Skitarii have no strict naming conventions and can include a mix of letters, numbers, Greek letters (both in character and word form, such as ' α' or 'Alpha', though Greek letters are not available on console keyboards), and Roman numerals. They can also follow a normal 'first name + surname' format too.
Regardless of the form your Skitarius' name takes, science, technology, Latin, and ancient Roman and Greek mythologies are great places to draw from for inspiration. This Reddit thread also has two name generators from Games Workshop-published books in it, so if you're looking for something a bit more canon-compliant, they're a good place to look too. And if you're after something a bit more whimsical, joke names featuring household appliances that play to the Ad Mech's love of ancient technology are also worth considering.
So, you can essentially be as lore-accurate or as goofy as you want with your Skitarii name in Darktide. While wandering the Mourningstar, I've seen the likes of Archytas-Θ-Σ-9, Cinis-Renatus-304, Lambda-Nuncius-16 mingling with Samsung-Fridge16, CHAPPIE, RedditUser, and WinRAR-License. Remember, you can also change any of your Operatives' names by getting a Personality Scourge from Barber-Chirugeon Krall, who resides in the left corner of the Mourningstar near the Comissary.
Below I've also listed more sources of information to help you come up with something authentically Skitarii or form the basis for a good pun or joke name:
