Frozen, Hocus Pocus, and Coco make their way to Disney Villainous with new expansions

Strategy board game series Disney Villainous is adding some big hitters to the lineup in 2026, drawing Frozen, Hocus Pocus, and Coco into the action for this year's expansions.

Launching in July, Disney Villainous: Success at Any Cost sets Ernesto de la Cruz from Coco and Frozen's Prince Hans loose on your game night. This will be followed by Disney Villainous: Come, We Fly! later in the year, starring the Sanderson Sisters from cult classic Hocus Pocus. All of these characters can be mixed and matched with others from the Disney Villainous series, which I'll always argue deserves a place at the table as one of the best board games.

Ravensburger's international product manager of family games, Lysa Penrose, says that Success at Any Cost adds "devious new matchups [...] packed with back-stabbing and betrayal." Meanwhile, Come, We Fly! continues the trend of adding live-action villains started by last year's Pirates of the Caribbean pack. More specifically, Davy Jones "unlocked a treasure trove of possible playable Villains from beloved Disney stories. When it comes to family-friendly Halloween movies, 'Hocus Pocus' is as iconic as it gets, so we knew we wanted to conjure the Sanderson Sisters this fall."

If you've yet to play Disney Villainous and don't know where to start, you can always grab the original game - it's typically available for a good deal less than MSRP via Amazon. However, I'd probably recommend starting with the newer 'Introduction to Evil' instead ($24.99 at Amazon right now, down from $35) because it's a little more streamlined.

I was able to catch a glimpse of these sets at the London Toy Fair earlier in the week, and as a longtime Villainous fan, they had me practically rubbing my hands together while doing a Mr Burns "excellent" impression. Although I'm a huge fan of Coco and it's the main draw of the pack for me, I'm astounded we've had to wait this long for a Frozen villain. Seeing as Prince Hans is all charm (much like Ernesto de la Cruz, who I hope will be able to steal the success of other players like he does in the movie), this could provide a more subtle approach to gameplay. More subtle than the Sanderson Sisters are likely to be, anyway. I adore both Hocus Pocus and Halloween, so I'm already booking out an evening to play that expandalone pack in the fall.

Disney Villainous: Success at Any Cost is priced at $22.99 and will launch with a Target-exclusive edition inspired by the traditional papel picado art style common to festivals like Día de Los Muertos. As for Disney Villainous: Come, We Fly!, it'll cost $14.99 and appears primed to land in time for spooky season.
