Another Agents of SHIELD moment is now MCU canon
Agents of SHIELD fans are wondering if a Daredevil: Born Again season 2 finale Easter egg could be proof that the show will be canon sooner rather than later.
In this week's episode, 'The Southern Cross', BB Urich gets a job at the New York Bulletin, following in the footsteps of her uncle Ben, after her work on The BB Report and City Without Fear helped oust Wilson Fisk as mayor.
Amongst the past front pages on the wall of the paper's office, one headline reads, "Cybertek settles." This refers to a lawsuit involving Cybertek, a tech company with links to Hydra. Together, they worked on Project Deathlok, an initiative to create enhanced cybernetic soldiers, whose first participant was killed by Phil Coulson in Agents of SHIELD.
Article continues belowThis is a multilayered Easter egg, too – the same prop was used in Netflix's Daredevil show. This is the first time Agents of SHIELD has been referenced in its MCU reboot, though.
"Look, this isn't much, but between this and the VisionQuest vague rumors, it's something!" wrote one fan on Twitter (some fans are convinced that the show will be made canon as part of upcoming series VisionQuest, which features an AI version of Agent Carter's Edwin Jarvis).
"AGENTS OF SHIELD CANON TRUTHERS WE ARE ALIVE," said someone else.
Agents of SHIELD ran from 2013 to 2020, but isn't considered MCU canon. The show's cast includes Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Brett Dalton, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge.
