The long-awaited Genshin Impact anime has finally resurfaced after three years of silence from Ufotable, the Japanese animation house behind Demon Slayer and countless other anime projects.
Ufotable today released a promo reel showing off its projects slated for 2026 and beyond, including brief looks at The Witch on the Holy Night, the second Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie, and its adaptation of hit free-to-play video game Genshin Impact.
The Genshin Impact tease is perhaps the briefest and vaguest of them all, showing only a pair of characters floating through the void, but the anime was first announced three years ago with little to no word on the project since then, so an update like this is generally a good sign that the series is alive and well. There's currently no release date for the project, though it is a joint effort with the game's original developer Hoyoverse.
Ufotable also gave us another nebulous tease for the roleplaying game series Tale of [Something] elsewhere in the promo reel. The studio has long handled many of the cutscenes and anime sequences in multiple Tales of games. What exactly is being teased here is unclear, but series producer Yuusuke Tomizawa tweeted saying that details about Ufotable's next collaboration with publisher Bandai Namco will come on April 3, 2026.
The Tales of series hasn't received a brand new game since 2021's Tales of Arise. Bandai Namco have since embarked on a journey to remaster and re-release several older games in the franchise leading into the series' whopping 30th anniversary, however.
