New screenshots, Move support revealed for Ninja Gaiden 3

When we saw Ninja Gaiden 3 at E3 in June, the developers kept emphasizing one point: this is a game about wielding a katana, depending on a katana, and feeling every visceral pop and crunch as said katana cleaves through your enemies' flesh and bone. (Certainly there was a lot of that last bit, as we frequently found ourselves sawing through enemy torsos in dramatic closeups duringour time with the game.) So it's not all that surprising that, with such a heavyemphasis on swordplay, developer Team Ninja announced today that the PS3 version of Ninja Gaiden 3 will be compatible with Move. Accompanying that news are eight new screens to make us wonder exactly how Sony's motion controls will be implemented when the game arrives next year.

While Team Ninja and publisher Tecmo Koei didn't elaborate on how Move and Ryu's katana will work together, we're holding out hope for optional 1:1 motion controls - or at the very least, something a little more elegant than waggle. If you're not interested in waving a glowing wand around, though, take heart: Ninja Gaiden 3 still feels pretty great with a regular controller. And the rest of its new screens look pretty slick:
