When you think of mechs that crush all who stand before them, who do you picture piloting them? Because if it's not a pink puffball that rides around on a star, Nintendo is going to change your mind with Kirby: Planet Robobot, due June 10 on 3DS.
In Planet Robobot, invaders have mechanized Dreamland and are attacking inhabitants with all manner of nefarious machinery. Much like how Kirby can absorb powers from the things he eats, his mech will also be able to take on various forms and abilities throughout the adventure.
If you've got friends who are also Kirby fans, there's also a multiplayer option called Team Kirby Clash. In this mode, up to four players battle bosses and level up, similar to an RPG. Each player takes on a different role (such as damage dealer, tank, and healer), but all must work together to achieve victory. The really nice part: Team Kirby Clash is available via download play, meaning your friends don't need to own Planet Robobot to join you.
Lastly, the game will also be compatible with amiibo, giving Kirby new abilities depending on which figure is tapped. The Mario Smash Bros. amiibo for example will give Kirby flame powers, while the Link Smash Bros. amiibo will give him a sword. New amiibo for Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Waddle Dee will also be available this summer, expanding options further.
